What Social Media Accounts Should I Have?

This is a very important topic. If you are new to social media or blogging or just have branched out then you could be wondering this very question. The social media accounts you have are kind of like the eyes to your soul, but more the call line to your readers. Through different social media accounts you are able to engage and reach out to more viewers and maybe even land some loyal ones. So, here are some accounts you should consider!

1. Google +
As I've mentioned in a past post, Google + is actually fairly well used. Also having it on your blog can help get your posts more +1 and more people could stumble upon your Google+ account if they are interested in what you post. It is also a very easy sort of tool to share other peoples content that you find interesting and start discussions with other people and viewers through the engaging content you post.

2. Twitter
Most of us have twitter or even a few twitter accounts. This is probably one of the most important ones to have. Here you can easily reach out to users, take part in live chats with people with similar interests as you. Use hashtags effectively and often. You are also able to keep up with conversations quickly and have them all there for easy readability later.

3.Instagram
Here is another effective social media channel at your disposal. I, myself, am still waiting to set this up till it's perfect and ready to, but it is a good tool to have. Here you can give the candid of your daily life. Show the process of how you come up with posts, show your dog, show a preview of a post idea. You can also engage with your viewers and look at their photos too. Comment on them or like them. Your readers can easily reach out to you and it makes talking to them so chill. Instagram is also a great way of using hashtags to find people with similar interests and build a community.

4. Facebook Page
This is optional. If you're getting up there with the followers and have lots of views you may want to consider making a Facebook page for your account and making your personal Facebook account very private. This way people can still engage with you on Facebook, you have control on what someone can send you or what they see of your content and they can talk to each other about a topic you have shared about. You are also getting some of the people on Facebook who may or may not even realize you were a thing to be talked about. I know I'm not planning for the Facebook page till I am at 1,000 followers. That's just a goal of mine, you can start your page whenever you feel comfortable with sharing your blog or self on Facebook.

5. SnapChat
Another optional account to consider. A lot of bloggers and YouTubers have been going for snapchat. It's a very effective way to reach out to viewers and let them see your daily life in the quickest way possible. They can also snap you back with their lives and it just makes things more personal and chill. Something to consider if you really want to have a very open connection with your followers.

Anyway, those are the top 5 social media channels you should consider when you want to effectively engage with your audience in multiple ways. If you have any other accounts I may have missed I would love to hear about them or try them out!

Have a Fantastic Weekend Everyone! I'll see you again on Monday!

  1. It can be so overwhelming, when I started I had NO idea. I always tell people Twitter will grow your blog, and so will instagram - the others, just use what you are comfortable with. x

    1. It is very overwhelming at first! I never really thought on using social media to spread my blog more till I was doing a social media marketing course. Luckily, the teacher guided us in how to exactly do things for each channel, otherwise I would have been extremely lost.
Those are very good points to give to people!
