Brigus Haul

If you haven't been to Newfoundland you may not know what Brigus is. Well, it's a small beautiful community on Conception Bay. Super nice place. There's little cafes, beautiful houses with names, walking trails, and it's just amazing. I have actually never been there until this weekend. I also went this weekend because Some Good Market was taking place and I wanted to get some cupcakes. Well, I certainly got more than cupcakes. I got a mixture of cupcakes, bath bombs/salts, soaps, and a candle... all handmade right here in Newfoundland. So, if it wasn't obvious enough already this post is going to be focusing on Newfoundland goods/finds. Pretty much all have an online store as well, so don't worry if you don't live in Newfoundland. Let's get right into it shall we?

First thing is the cupcakes. They were so good! Probably the best cupcakes I've ever had... and who makes these dear cupcakes? Well Best Kind Bake Shoppee of course! They make some pretty rad flavours of cupcakes like Fudge-o, Nutella Cheesecake, Superkid, and so many others that will make your mouth water. They also make beautiful looking cakes. Check them out on Instagram & Facebook!

The second booth we hit was the Crystal Ball. Here I picked up a cute little Orange Pekoe soap. Now, I don't drink the traditional tetley tea... but I love the smell of it. This soap smells exactly like a fresh brewed cup of tea. I haven't tried it yet so, I'll keep you posted on how it feels but I'm willing to bet that it feels awesome on the skin. Check out their Facebook page.

The third booth was BubblePixie Soap Co. They were super nice and friendly! They also have top notch packaging and so many different items. It was hard to pick until they said you can also get a surprise bag for $20. So, what came in our surprise bags? A lip balm, bath bomb, soap, and a giant tub of bath salts. It was super awesome and also a great way to try a few of their different products. Check them out on Etsy & Facebook.

The last stop was actually in the little corner store in Brigus. We stopped to get a bite to eat. I got a turkey sandwich which was awesome and me and my friend also shared their blueberry desert topped with ice cream and blueberry sauace. So good! Anyway, before we were leaving we poked around inside the gift shop and they had so many Newfoundland crafts and goods. Hand knit sweaters, soaps, puffin figures, and candles. The candles in particular were awesome. They were made by Foggy Island Candles who focus on making candles that will remind you of home. I picked out the blueberry pie. Smells super good. Check them out on Facebook, Instagram, and on their website.

Here is also some photos I took while I was exploring.

It is such a nice community. If you have the chance to go, go!

Thank you so much for stopping by & I hope you all have a wonderful day!

New Love~ The Happy Planner

Last year at this time I found this awesome planner. This year I bring you the The Happy Planner by Me& My Big Ideas. I had no idea that planner scrap booking was a thing, until my sister showed me about a month ago. I became hooked as I normally do with planners.

Now, trying to pick the right one out of so many different kinds was probably the hardest part. You have The Happy Planner, there's a Mambi Happy Planner, Erin Condren Planners, and many other different kinds. You can get them in vertical or horizontal. Dated and not dated. This was a whole new deal compared to my usual lined planners and completely different than the Kate Spade Planners I normally lusted over. After much debate, I decided to go with the regular Happy Planner since I knew Michael's carries them and I wouldn't have to pay an arm and leg on shipping.

Picking out the planner from there took forever. There was this section done up for back to school that was just planner filled. There were a number of kits and just stand alone planners. For an extra $10 I could get a planner in a kit which meant I wouldn't have to go crazy on stickers right away. I also picked up washi tape and one small sticker pack. Once up to the check out the total came to $65. I nearly died since I just really want to keep my blog organized and work life and just daily life things. Thank God for the girl at the cash. She was like "I am not letting you pay that much for a planner and people should not have to pay anywhere near that to be organized", found a coupon and saved me 40%. So, in all I got all my planner things for $40 and this girl is my new favourite person.

The Planner I went with was the best year ever. This one doesn't come dated so you can fill it in as you go. I thought this was perfect because I'll usually end up going a month without using a planner and I hate wasting paper. This way if I miss a month I can just leave it out and continue on from there. The stickers it came with were nice. They feature each month, bubble numbers for each day, it's pretty and has a big calendar section I like to use to record anything significant that I can look back on.

An example of a blank page of this planner:

Blank Calendar Page:

Example of the beginning of a month:

Example of one of my weeks:

I'm still getting used to it and apparently I am taking part in a more "white space" approach to it. I do however, enjoy how I can draw a picture if I want or color in the spaces how I like. I haven't been drawing or painting lately so in a way it's giving me something to do in a creative way weekly or daily. However, I did buy a pack of stickers for September.. we'll see how that goes. Maybe I'll do a plan with me post. If you guys are interested in that comment down below!

I section my days off into To Dos for work, Blog things, and Little Things I need to do for the day. I use the side for notes for a To Do List for the entire week, Workout checklist and a study mark off.

If you want a better idea of how other people plan there's check out these videos:

Anyway, I really wish I stumbled upon this while I was still in school. I feel like I would have been even more organized since I would look forward to filling in every week. Procrastination at its finest? Probably.

What's your favourite planner to use? Are you up on this planner scrap booking trend?

Thank you so much for stopping by and I hope you all have an amazing day!

Excellent Finds at Envy

How much I love this store is an understatement.
I have always enjoyed and envied walking around this store in the local mall.
However, I rarely ever was able to actually afford clothing from there since all of my money was going towards my tuition.
Thankfully, schools' over now and I can actually afford a wider range of items which includes Envy.
Another fact about Envy is that it is an Atlantic owned company and they bring in higher end clothes that can be a bit hard to come by to some places, like here.

So, right now Envy is having a 50-75% off sale, which is fabulous!
I took this as an opportunity to grab some transitional items for the upcoming fall season.
It was hard to choose some things since normally my size is always gone by the time sales roll around, but there were lots of items in a whole range of sizes! However, I'm a practical girl and a beautiful bubble gum pink dress had to be left behind. I will miss you bae.

Anyway, the items I actually did bring home with me were great.
The first was this navy blue lace halter shirt.
I love this, it's so comfy and I enjoy the lace detailing and I think this will be great with one of my warm cardigans the fall and for right now in the summer it's still perfect.

The next wonderful item is a beautiful trench coat by the brand ONLY.
I have been looking for a good quality trench coat for so long and this was the last one in the Newfoundland location. Which of course means I just had to get it.
It fits so well, compared to other long coats I own. I have a large bottom which makes longer coats a problem for me. However, this one is perfect.
I can't wait to wear this in the early fall with a scarf and tall boots.
I'm going to feel so London-ish (in my head anyway).
You can get a similar one here.

The last item I got was a simple basic beige v-neck shirt.
I enjoy this too and it's really going to become a staple that luckily is not black.
The best part about this shirt is that it was only $4 with tax! I know right? I should have bought a few more however we'll see what happens the weekend. I may be going back.

Also to note, they are starting to bring out their fall clothes and OMG they all of it looks awesome! I'm super excited for the Fall since that is my home girl. However, I will be enjoying the last of my summer as much as I can.

Have any of you shopped at Envy? What awesome deals have you found recently?
Let me know in the comments below!

Thank you for stopping by and I hope you have a wonderful day!

Ontario Shopping Haul

So, besides Lush I bought an awful lot of clothes and a few other things. So much really that my suitcase was like 20 lbs heavier than when I had left in the first place. However, that was also including some of Jake's things as well, but we shopped till we dropped in a way.  Anyway, let's start with some of the things I bought.

Kate Spade Outlet

Not far from where we stayed was the Toronto Premium Outlets. They had some super good deals here and this is where I got my very first Kate Spade bag courtesy of Jake.I love it. It's a beautiful blue with a pyramid at the opening and it's just perfect.  Actually in love with it.

ZARA

I bought one thing from Zara and that was this beautiful light blue fashion backpack with gold hardware. It was so lovely and the last one in store and I just had to have it. It's going to be perfect for the summer especially when I go on some adventures and I'm just in love with it.

Simons

I love this store and I buy from it online all the time so one opening not far from Jake's sister's place was the best news. I bought two shirts there. One was a Star Wars one because it has the exact print (although black/white) as the one dad has from when he was a teen. So, I just had to get that. The other one I got was a black shirt with white moons on it. I thought it looked pretty cool and should fit nicely into my wardrobe. I also got a cute little hair clip as well.

Mountain Warehouse

One of these just opened in Guelph and they had a 50% off sale for opening and it was great. I got a great shirt for hiking in that is quick drying and also purple. I also got a nice black hat for hiking as well or just when I want a baseball cap. Jake got a lot of things here like a hiking backpack, sleeping bag, fancy water filter bottles and so many other things. Check them out though. I believe they are a popular brand in the UK and I know we don't have one here in NL, but check them out online.

Winners

This one may seem odd. I have a Winners at home, but it doesn't have nearly as much stuff as I would like it too because there isn't that many high end places in town. The one we went to was great, they had Kate Spade bags and everything. I got 4 little bottles of Marc Jacobs perfumes and a Fossil wallet for some pretty good prices.

H&M

I got so many things here. SO MANY. And at two different stores. So, let's start with the basics. I got a simple cream colored t-shirt and a very nice forest green sweater. I also got a nice pair of those flowing shorts with an elephant print that are so comfy and also got a dark purple maxi dress. Last thing I got was a nice black shirt that was kitted at the top and looks super cute with a pair of shorts.

Forever 21

I just got basics here. Nothing big just some cami's and a plain black v neck shirt.

That is pretty much everything I got whilst I was in Ontario.. a few months back, So delayed, I don't know how or why I do this sometimes. Anyway, hope you guys liked my post.

Have a great day & week everyone!

Small Lush Haul

I bought many things while on my trip. They had sales and the tax rate is so much lower in Ontario than it is in Newfoundland. I thought I would break up what I got in a few posts so, this one is on Lush.

I bought a Lip Tint which is not pictured. However, it is "It started with a Kiss" and it is a lovely red that stains pretty good. Love it!

I also got a Blooming Beautiful wrapped gift package for a friend. This one came with a bath bomb and a bubble bar and is wrapped so nicely. I never having wrapping paper for birthdays so this worked out great! My friend loves Lush products so I am hoping she enjoys this.

Lastly I got bath bombs. I got four in total. I got two Intergalactic. Which looks awesome by the way! One Frozen bath bomb which makes a lovely blue color in your bath and has so many sparkles. The last of the four was Sex bomb bath bomb. This one I have gotten before and I really enjoy it. It's very moisturizing and is a pinkish purple color. Hopefully, I like the others two kinds just as much.

Anyway, that is all I got from Lush in Guelph, Ontario. If you are planning on shopping at this one the workers are super nice and friendly, highly recommend them!

I hope you are all having a lovely day and I will talk to you again soon.

New Products That I am Loving!

So, I've been missing from the blogging scene for a few months now. I know! It's horrible, but school took over and work to the point I was passing out at 9 ready for bed or not. However, I am back today with a post about some products cause I went shopping. Bought some things. Some at usual stores, others at markets. Some of them I absolutely love and others I am not loving too much. So, I figured I would compile all of my new things into one blog post and do a little run through.

1. Maybeline Brow define & fill duo

This is amazing. I am not very good with filling in my eyebrows or even getting them done. I know it's bad, but I don't care. I'm just lazy, okay? However, I was walking around Wal-Mart this past week, like I do and realized Maybeline had released a lot of brow products and I stumbled upon this little guy. I thought it was so neat and I just had to have it. It has a pencil on one side and a sponge powder thing on the other side. It is so good! It makes doing your eyebrows so much faster and they look awesome! I'm really enjoying it and the formula actually stays on pretty much all day. It also comes in a few different shades and is around $10. So, I would strongly recommend this product if you're like me and are not good with the brows.

2. Benefit They're Real Mascara

So, I mentioned the little tin set I got from Benefit for Christmas in a past post. I never got around to trying the mascara that came with it until this week and OMG I am in love. My lashes are so dark and look so much longer when I wear it and it keeps them curled. I'll have to get an actual proper size of this when I run out, but for now this is my go to mascara.

3. St. John's Soap Works everything
I haven't actually gotten to try many of these products, but I have tried some in the past and I'm just tickled pink to even own some of this stuff. You can check out their Etsy page here. I have raved about them before and a few months back there was a market for the Frosty Festival and I spent all my money there and on tea buns. Yup.

4. Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water

This product I was a little bit iffy about. I had heard some good things about it, but I absolutely love it! It removes makeup so well and my face feels much more alive after I use it, so it's perfect for those mornings I'm pretty much running out of the house.

5. NYX Cosmetics Liquid Suede Cream Lipstick in Soft Spoken

I have been drifting towards darker colors. Maybe that's because Newfoundland and parts of Canada are pretty much experiencing a second Winter right now and it feels nothing like spring time. So, the darker shades it is. So, when I was in shoppers I was looking for a new lipstick and I figured I would give one of these a try. I picked up Soft Spoken and I love it. It is almost the exact same color as Kat Von D 's matte liquid lipstick in Lolita. Minus the very drying effect to it. Which is why I am very pleased with this NYX product.

6. Maybeline Fit Me liquid foundation in Hydrate + Smooth, 115 Ivory

I have mixed reviews with this product. I have very dry skin... VERY DRY. In some places and oily in others. So, I've been trying to find a cheaper brand of liquid foundation that will not make me cake up or dry out my skin. I figured I would give this one a try since it is suppose to be very hydrating and smooth. It works perfectly everywhere except where it is very dry. I'm not sure how I will fix that yet, but it has a very good coverage and easily blends with a blender sponge. It's just trying to get it to work with the rest of my skin.

That is all the products I have for you guys right now! Again my apologies this has been a very long blog free spell and I can't wait to get back at it again! Comment below if you have any of these products or what blog posts you would like to see in the future!
I hope you all have a wonderful day and weekend and I'll talk to you soon!

Lush Haul~~Christmas

I don't really have much of a weekly update for you guys, but I did get my Lush stuff I ordered a week ago. We sadly don't have a Lush in Newfoundland so, if we don't get it while we're on vacation we have to get it ordered in. Anyway, this is the things I picked out from their Christmas line.. There will probably be more purchases in a few weeks when Christmas is closer but o figured I would try out some things now then get more of what I like. Anyway, let's dive right in shall we?

1. Baked Alaska Soap

The picture really doesn't do it justice. It's probably the prettiest soap I've ever owned and it has a really fruity scent to it. Not sure how much I'm going to like that since I only like fruity so much. We'll see how that goes!

2. Santa's Lip Scrub
I've never had a lip scrub before, so I thought why not? Anyway this one smells like cola which is so Christmas to me. Weird I know, but we used to have Coca Cola everything around Christmas. Anyway, it's red and there's little hearts in it. This I have actually already used and it's really nice. My lips feel very smooth and I suppose kissable as the packaging suggests. It has so much product in it as well and you don't need very much so I feel like I'll have this for a while.

3. Snakes and Ladders Fun

Another product I've never had before. Apparently, it's like bath play-doh that you can use as a bubble bar, soap, or shampoo. So pretty handy. And it's all the colours to make a snakes and ladders game. It's not my favourite smell, but it's okay. Kinda of like an acquired smell. Should still be fun and I also like how a percentage of the sales from each bar helps fund local projects in Japan. That's pretty cool.

4. Butter bear Bath Bomb

The original butterball bath bomb in the shape of a bear. I'm super excited for this and it's so cute. I'm probably going to buy a few more of these guys just to put in people's Christmas presents. I also got the Dashing Santa Bath Bomb, but unfortunately Santa had a bumpy flight and looks more like a monster than Santa.

So, that's what I've gotten from Lush so far for the upcoming Christmas season. I know it's still October, but I get excited for Christmas so early... I blame school for that. Anyway, what products from Lush have you guys been loving?

Shoe Find

So, I've been looking for a nice pair of boots for the fall. I wanted ones with a bit more heel and covered my ankles. I also didn't want to spend to much on shoes because I am a broke student and money doesn't grow on trees.

Anyway, I found the perfect pair at Urban Planet.

These boots are so nice. Hard on the feet of you wear them for 12 hours like I did the day of the wedding, but otherwise so nice. I got a lot of compliments on them and they tie together with my simple black dress look or with jeans or nice black skinny pants. They are also perfect for fall and winter too.

That is my mid October find that I love so far. Hope you are all having an awesome day!
