Getting the House Ready- Part 1

Getting a house ready for Christmas can seem like a very large task. You have decorations to go up, a tree, outside lights, Christmas villages, and so much more. I will be going through with you a multiple part series of how to get your house ready.
If you're like my family and I, you are all very busy and have no time to start getting ready. You're in school, working full time or school and part time. You think how can I possible get the house ready. Well you can. It takes some family teamwork. I know sometimes hard to come by, but if everyone in your house pitches in, it'll take no time.
So, the first thing you'll want to have done is cleaned. Yup, think of it like a winter spring cleaning. Dust the furniture, throw out old magazines and flyers, clean your bedroom, bathroom, kitchen, all of it. It makes the task of decorating much easier. It's also good to get a small storage container for all the objects in your home that don't fit with your Christmas things. We have a few storage containers for this. We put the usual frames and bobbles, motorcycle things, in here. This clears away space and you can start visualizing where everything goes. We do the same thing with our dishes cupboards and pantry. It's just a very deep cleaning to the point where you may question if a family lives here. Only for maybe an hour though.
Once you have all the basics and wash down the walls.. A lot of dust can build up between then and spring cleaning. You'll want to then beginning the slow process of decorating. I will be coming at you with part 2 next Wednesday!

How has your house cleaning been going? Or are you already ready for Christmas? Let me know in the comments below!
