Tibb's Eve, how are you spending it?

Today is the eve of Christmas Eve and here in Newfoundland that means Tibb's Eve. What does that mean? Well you get together with friends and or family, drink and have fun. Unfortunately, I'm spending it wrapping gifts and getting ready for an early morning at work tomorrow, but in the past I have had some fun.

Want some history about Tibb'd Eve? Well it essentially began after World War II in outport very religious communities. It was looked at as a way of sampling all the Christmas drink goods with friends and getting together before family time. Even if you're not from Newfoundland and maybe having a slow night, call some friends over & sample some Christmas goodies and have fun! Or if you are under the legal drinking age, call up some friends and play some games or watch some movies with some chocolate treats!
